If exception has a name, it's certainly Alfred Gratien. A confidential house founded in 1864 in Epernay, producing exceptional champagnes with the purest respect for tradition and craftsmanship.

A story of filiation.

In this family-run business on a human scale, transmission and loyalty play a central role in preserving the craftsmanship and style of Alfred Gratien. For over 100 years, four generations of the JAEGER family have succeeded each other as cellar master, from father to son.

From this rare lineage, the cellar masters have shared three unique areas of expertise:

  • Knowledge of terroirs and vines guarantees the selection of the finest grapes.
  • Meticulous, demanding, traditional winemaking techniques.
  • Mastery of the blending of the crus, a real work of composition in search of expressive and harmonious balance, always in the spirit and style of the house.

Le 5's first task was to redefine the brand's platform. This essential work then served as the guiding principle for the entire graphic redesign of the brand's visual universe, including the packaging’s new design, which restores all the elegance and personality of this house with its assertive style, while respecting its history, an important point for filiation demands. The crown has been redesigned and lightened, the Alfred Gratien signature redefined and a particular attention was paid to the choice of paper and printing effects.

In a second phase, Atelier le 5 tackled all the other elements making up the brand's visual universe, including the creation of a brand book and brand charter. A specific volume study was also carried out, as well as the creation of a Key Visual. In short, Le 5 completely overhauled the brand's visual universe.
